Sleeping Beauty (Aurora)
Step 1-Images
For anyone who hasn't watched the Disney version, Sleeping Beauty actually has two dresses, one pink and one blue. Most people associate the pink dress with sleeping beauty though because Disney loves color blocking and Cinderella is the blue princess. Her dress is simple enough, pink with a white shoulder covering. She has sleeves, but you can use gloves.

Step 2-Plan
For this version, my friend asked me to make it sexier, so I'll include an alternate version below my plan for those of you that are not quite as brave:
Head: Crown (Make) Hairstyle: Down with light waves Necklace: Gold triangle shape (Make) Top: Pink Bandeau (Buy) Bottom: High low skirt or maxi (Buy or convert) Shoes: Any pink Shoes (Have or buy) Alternate versions: #1 Use a plain pink dress instead of a bandeau and skirt. Can be long or short. Make the crown, necklace, and shoulder coverings. #2 Get a pink corset instead of a bandeau. Other than that, pretty much the same as the original. |
Step 3- Getting Started
Project 1-Crown
Man is this one difficult to decide what to do. The Sleeping Beauty movie was made in 1959 so Aurora has the simplest crown in the animation, but on all movie posters her crown is a lot more elaborate. I am going with a hybrid (image 5). I spray painted it gold, then covered it in gold colored brass plaiting.
As of 5/5/2013 the crown is done, so I'll try to upload instructions within the next few days. This project has its own page. |
